Advice on compatibility with your equipment prior to the hire (see below)
Are you organising an event, perhaps a business meeting, conference or an
important presentation to a potential client? Or maybe you are making
arrangements for a wedding or party? If you need presentation equipment, why not

helping set up for events, and whether you need a projector and screen, a PA
system - perhaps including a hearing induction loop - or any other audio visual
/ presentation system, we would be happy to discuss suitable options for your
event.
Compatibility Issues
To avoid compatibility issues and last minute pre-presentation panic, we
would suggest that you consider the following suggestions. When a client
is going to be connecting their laptop into a hire projector, the two key issues
are the resolution of the laptop computer and the type of connector needed to
cable out of this into the projector or flatscreen display device. The
lowest resolution that you will find on current laptops now is XGA resolution
(1,024 x 768 pixels). However this is no longer a standard, and you may
find that you have a higher resolution at a 4:3 aspect ratio, or that you now
have a widescreen laptop (typically an aspect ratio of 16:9). But don't
panic! We have many years of experience of dealing with this kind of
compatibility issue, so we suggest that you contact us and we can help you
select the appropriate equipment from the outset. We also like to confirm
the type of connection cables that we will require to connect your computer or
other equipment to our display devices, and this can be the usual 15 pin sub 'D'
connector, a DVI connector or in the case of Apple Macs can be a proprietary
connection type. In all cases though, we prefer to get the hire equipment
to you in advance of the hire date so that there is adequate time to
double-check all of these issues.

Isis Audio Visuals have a range of projection equipment available for hire,
including older style OHP's (overhead projectors) for showing acetates or
transparencies on, and 35mm slide projectors. We also have more modern
projection equipment for showing computer presentations, as well as video
projectors & DVD projection systems (with separate sound systems if showing
footage to larger audiences).
Computer Projectors
The standard native resolution of the projectors we hire out for this
purpose is XGA (1,024 x 768). Usually these are driven by the client's
laptop computer, and the standard connector uses a 15 pin sub 'D'
connector. If your computer uses a less standard format, such as DVI,
please let us know in advance, so that we can supply the appropriate cables to
connect your PC to the computer projector. If you are using an Apple Mac
computer then you may well require the appropriate adapter for this. Also,
if you are running a long cable to the projector or if your Mac has a graphics
card with low output, then you may require a signal booster (also known as a
D.A., short for distribution amplifier). This is available for hire at
additional cost and will boost the signal strength, reducing problems such as
image flicker or ghosting.
Other terms used for 'computer projector' include:
LitePro (this is usually associated with InFocus projectors) LCD Projector
(an acronym for Liquid Crystal Display, a projector technology) Barco (another
trade name, usually meaning the large 3-beam CRT projectors) DLP (a Texas
Instruments technology) Beamer - purely a slang term!
OHP's
We have OHP's (Overhead Projectors) available in both folding portable
formats, as well as larger, higher powered units. We still stock and
supply OHP transparencies if these are required. If you need any
transparencies, we will need to know the make and model of the printer you are
using.
Slide Projectors
We have 35mm slide projectors with remote handsets, enabling slides to be
advanced remotely by the presenter. If you are using a 35mm slide
projector or OHP to project an image similar to a 'gobo' or to paint a mural
with, why not get in contact and we can suggest the ideal package for your
requirements.
Video Projectors and DVD Projectors
We have a range of projectors available, depending on your requirements and
budget. To enable us to suggest an appropriate projector model, please let
us know as much information as possible, including expected audience size,
equipment you are connecting into and ambient light levels. Screens are
available from £10 per day. Please note: if you need audio output, the
built-in audio is quite limited on these projectors. Based on factors such
as audience and room size, we can supply audio from £10 per day, or full PA
systems (see above) to suit the size of room and the expected number of people
in the audience.
PA Systems
Systems available include a small, portable system with easy setup.
This PA system has two wireless handheld mics (roving mics). We have
larger systems for bigger venues, with lapel radio microphones, handheld radio
microphones and wired mics. Please call to discuss your requirements, and
we will be happy to discuss which system would be best suited to your event.
Hire Terms & Conditions
If this is your first hire from Isis Audio Visuals, we will require payment
on or before delivery of the equipment, along with proof of ID. Payment
options include BACS, company cheque or cash). Normally we are then happy
to do future business on a 30 day credit agreement.
If possible, we will endeavour to deliver the equipment to you prior to the
event, enabling you to become comfortable with the operation of the equipment
and eliminating any last minute delays. For example, if you required a
projector or plasma for an event on a Tuesday, we would often deliver to you on
Monday afternoon and collect on the Wednesday morning. You would normally
only be charged for one day of hire in this case. If you required a
projector or plasma display for a longer period for a dry run of the event
however we would normally charge for the extra period at the standard
rate.
Delivery charges and options
The cost of delivery / collection will vary depending on the distance and
location and the period of notice given for the hire. We can therefore
only quote you a delivery charge when we know the full details of the hire
requirement. Alternatively you can collect the goods from us and arrange
return. Please call us to discuss costs and options. Please give
